Luke 12:34

'Your heart will be where your treasure is.'

I've come back home for the weekend for the first time this academic year. I'm lucky because it's not too far and I don't like being away from home, although I cope better than I used to.

The painting above was done by my sister for her GCSE's, it's of the cherry tree which is outside the Science labs at the high school we went to. It hangs above my bed.

In other news my student finance finally came through mid-week and I spent most of yesterday doing Scout Leader training, and then in the evening I went to the district Scout Swimming Gala. I met several new people during training yesterday, and in the evening I saw people I hadn't seen in a while.

It was fun.

I guess that's why I love home.

What's your week been like?

  2. That's a gorgeous painting -- reminds me of a Grant Wood painting. Lovely -- thank you for sharing at Your Sunday Best this week.

    1. It's a favourite. Although she did it my sister didn't think much of it, she was going to just put it up the loft. But I happen to have a bit of a thing for trees and that particular one holds a whole host of memories.

    1. I love it! Being away from home does get easier, I'm certainly easier with it this year than last, but I think it's unlikely to ever feel quite like home, as home has never changed and here I'll only ever be in one house for about eight months. I look forward to coming back here this year though, which is a step in the right direction :)

    1. It is good fun. I've been helping with my group since I was 14 in one form or another, I love it. But the training kills me, it's so intense and takes a lot of hours at one time. I get why it needs to be done though...
